With the ability to talk to a lamp and even a pair of glasses, we’ve officially surpassed The Jetsons. This crazy world is about to get crazier — in the best way possible. With the holiday season on the horizon, Amazon just announced 14 new smart home products.
From goodies for your house, like the All-new Echo and Ring Stick Up Cam to wearable gadgets like the Echo Buds and Echo Loop ring that keeps Alexa literally on hand, the array of voice-assist products soon to be available (you can pre-order) is incredible. There’s even a smart oven (“Alexa, pre-heat to 375!”) and smart eyeglasses.
So make your list and check it twice — ahead, the 14 tech-tastic products Amazon just announced for the holidays.
Echo Buds
Amazon is jumping on the true-wireless earbuds bandwagon with Echo Buds. Unlike Apple Airpods and Samsung Galaxy Buds, Echo Buds are noise-canceling — the tech giant partnered with Bose to include the audio company’s Active Noise Reduction Technology. Just tap them to access Alexa. Available October 30; pre-order now for $130.

Echo Frames
Get into James Bond mode with Echo Frames — smart glasses with Alexa built-in! Compatible with most prescription lenses, they give you hands-free access for calling a friend, turning on smart home features, listening to podcasts and setting reminders (“Alexa, add ‘buy garbage bags’ to my to-list”). Alexa knows to respond to your voice only. And special Open Ear technology directs sound to your ears and minimizes what other people can hear. The glasses retail for $180 and are only available with an invitation from Amazon — just fill out a quick survey and sign up here.

Make a phone call or ask Alexa to remind you to pick up shampoo. Scratch- and water-resistant, the Echo Loop brings new meaning to the phrase, “talk to the hand.” Only available with an email invitation from Amazon — request one here.

Echo Dot with Clock
According to Amazon, one of the top questions people ask Alexa on their Echo Dot devices is “What time is it?” So naturally, there’s now a digital clock on the All-new Echo Dot. Now you can see the time at a glance, but still get all the functionality of Alexa. Available on October 16, it retails for $60 — only $10 more than its previous incarnation.

Echo Show 8
Ask Alexa to show you the news, a step-by-step recipe or a movie (with HD video quality of course). Flip through your Amazon photo album or play a podcast — the latest Echo Show is your new best friend. At 8 inches, this is for people who think the 10-inch model is too big and the 5-inch unit is too small. It’s the “just right” gizmo — the Goldilocks of smart displays. Out November 21.

Echo Glow
The Echo Glow is a smart lamp for kids that turns on and off with a tap. You can also connect it to your Echo device and ask Alexa to change the color or brightness or read the little ones a story. It features a wide range of colors, as well as a “rainbow timer” that changes hues randomly. And it can make routines easier — set it to a turn a specific color when it’s bedtime or gradually get brighter come morning. The Echo Glow will be released November 20.

eero
Amazon partnered with tech company eero for the online retailer’s first smart home mesh WiFi router and extender. This device can extend your home WiFi network up to 1,500 square feet. The eero is ideal for large homes that get spotty WiFi signals in places like far corners and basements. Thanks to built-in Alexa, everyone in the family can access the voice assistant no matter where they are in the house.

Echo Flex
At just $25, the Echo Flex is Amazon’s cheapest Alexa device. It plugs into any wall outlet for instant access wherever you want it — in the kitchen, down a hallway or even in the bathroom. Ask it for weather reports, restaurant hours, to turn off the lights and more. You can essentially use it as an intercom, to tell the kids to wash up for dinner or ask your husband to take out the trash. Available November 14; pre-order it here.

Amazon just announced its first four-in-one smart home oven — a voice-controlled microwave, air fryer, convection oven and food warmer. It comes with an Echo Dot so you can ask it when the oven is preheated or food is done — thanks to a built-in probe, it’ll even let you know when meat is at the correct temperature. Available for pre-order; out November 14.
