Alyssa Milano Declares She's 'Gentle and Forgiving' as 'Charmed' Drama Unfolds

Alyssa Milano is keeping things positive amid drama with her former Charmed co-stars.

On Tuesday, Dec. 19—which happened to be the actress' 51st birthday—Milano shed light on her current mindset following accusations she had Shannen Doherty fired from their supernatural TV series.

In a lengthy note posted to X (formerly Twitter), the Who's the Boss? star shared, "Today is my birthday! However, instead of just saying my age, from now on I’m going to say that I have reached 'level 51'. To unlock this level, I have discovered a few cheat codes that have helped me navigate the challenges and triumphs along the way. The first cheat code is RESILIENCE."

As she continued, Milano noted that she has faced "heartache, anxiety, and depression" over the years, but has overcome them thanks to "love."

"Love for myself, which keeps me evolving and searching, love for others," she continued, "which keeps me gentle and forgiving, and love for the world around me which keeps me in awe at what has been created here."

Further on in her message, Milano credited "gratitude" for allowing her "to appreciate the simple joys of life." She also noted, "Compassion and empathy are two more cheat codes that have helped me reach level 51 status. Although they can sometimes be uncomfortable emotions to experience, they have shaped me into a kind and humble person who strives to ease the suffering of humanity."

Milano ended her update by shouting out "the people in my life who love me unconditionally," writing, "Their support, care, and acceptance have been the driving force behind my personal growth."

While Milano did not address the Charmed drama directly, the message came a day after ex co-star Holly Marie Combs suggested that she played a role in Doherty's exit from the series, which ran from 1998 to 2006.

On Doherty's podcast Let's Be Clear, Combs recalled a meeting she had with one of the show's producers, Jonathan Levin, in the early '00s: "He said, ‘We didn’t mean to—but we’ve been backed into this corner—we’re basically in this position where it’s one or the other.'"

"'We were told [by Alyssa] it’s her or [Shannen]," Combs continued, "'and Alyssa has threatened to sue us for a hostile workplace environment.'"

As fans of Charmed well know, Doherty did exit the series early, as her character, Prue Halliwell, was killed off in the 2001 season 3 finale.
