Alliance Farmers Market kicks off for season
Alliance Farmers Market kicked off for the summer on Saturday, with vendors selling fresh food and other items such as crafts, artwork and bee products. The market, at the northeast corner of East State Street and South Union Avenue will run through Oct. 5, except for Aug. 10, when the Greater Alliance Carnation Festival passes by the site as it makes its turn onto East State. The market is under the management of Alliance Area Chamber of Commerce, with new director Kristina Yarwood. Officials expect more vendors will be joining the market in the coming weeks, after opening with 19 signed on at the start. The weekly event also will have live music during the season. The market runs 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday.
