Alicia Keys Has More Grammys Than Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, and Madonna
Alicia Keys dropped her debut solo album, Songs in A Minor, almost 19 years ago. Since then, she's continued to make a major impact on the music industry, so it's unsurprising that she's garnered an astonishing 29 Grammy Award nominations to date.
Keys' trophy count is just as impressive. So far, she's earned a staggering 15 Grammy wins for works such as "Fallin'," "No One," "Empire State of Mind," and "If I Ain't Got You." That's more nods than artists like Lady Gaga (9), Taylor Swift (10), Madonna (7), and Mariah Carey (5) have. However, Keys hasn't quite trumped Beyoncé, who currently has 23 Grammys to her name.
Considering Keys' impressive Grammys history, it makes sense that she's returning to host the ceremony in 2020 for the second year running. Of her return to the Grammys stage, Keys revealed in a statement (per NBC News), "At first, I did think last year was a one-time thing, but when the opportunity came back around, there was no question about returning as host." She continued, "Not only did I feel the love in the room, but I felt it from around the world and it confirmed the healing and unifying power of music."
Below, we round up Alicia Keys' multiple Grammy Awards wins and nominations. Watch the music star host the 62nd Grammy Awards on Sunday, January 26, on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT.
