Alexa Can Take Your Whole Foods Order Now
Imagine it's Sunday morning. You're cozy on the couch, on your fourth consecutive episode of whatever it is that you're currently binge-watching. You're in lazy Sunday bliss, and then you remember - the only thing you have in your fridge is expired milk.
Now, you can push your grocery shopping off on someone else, or rather, something else. Just say, "Alexa, shop Whole Foods," and begin verbally adding items to your "cart", per Food & Wine. You can literally sit in a plush robe with a face mask on, and order all of the fixings for dinner that night and your meal prep ingredients for the week. What a time to be alive!
For those of you that have the sometimes-creepy-but-usually-helpful gadget, you say "Alexa, shop Whole Foods," to see if you live in one of the cities where delivery from the store is available via Prime Now, Food & Wine notes.

Venture Beat reports that Prime Now, available in 24 U.S. markets, ensures two-hour same-day delivery, which is quite a treat. Once you prompt Alexa to shop Whole Foods, you're ready to go. "Add salmon to my Whole Foods Cart." Alexa will confirm the item you've added, and ask "What else?" until you say, "Alexa, check out."
After you're done adding items to your "cart", you can review your order and check out through either the Amazon or Prime Now app. VentureBeat notes that if you add a generic item, such as "cheese" or "milk", Alexa will "choose one for you based on order history and purchasing behavior of other customers." So, the more you enlist Alexa to grocery shop for you, the better "she" will be at anticipating your preferences. Again, kind of creepy, but also very exciting for days when venturing to the store just isn't going to happen.
You must be an Amazon Prime member, and meet the minimum purchase amount to use the service. Amazon Prime is fabulous for many reasons, but this new service and the discounts at Whole Foods definitely sweeten the deal.
Will Alexa judge someone if their grocery list consists of Prosecco and ice cream? Asking for a friend.
