Alamo Drafthouse to Open Near Disney World in 2020
After a long day riding roller coasters at Disney World, it might be nice to kick back, order a drink and enjoy a classic film.
It’s possible to enjoy movies while you’re at Disney World. There are movie theaters, even dine-in movie theaters, nearby. But most movie theaters just don’t capture the glory of cinema quite like Alamo Drafthouse, with its extensive food, cocktail, beer and wine menus, comfortable seats, themed movie nights and regular screenings of the newest flicks.
But movie geeks who also enjoy visiting Disney World will no longer have to choose between their two passions very soon. According to the Orlando Sentinel, Alamo Drafthouse is opening a brand new location near the park, at the Vineland Pointe shopping center in 2020.
The new location will feature 10 screens, which will be full-service, dine-in theaters with 942 seats, plus a restaurant and bar, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
“Bringing this premium entertainment concept to Vineland Pointe helps fulfill our vision for a true experiential destination. Our goal is to create a compelling mix of entertainment and retail to serve the needs of the community as well as Orlando visitors,” developer Bill O’Connor, CEO of O’Connor Capital Partners, told the Orlando Sentinel.
Currently, the Alamo Drafthouse has 35 locations, including the original in Austin, Texas. The quirky theater is famous for tribute nights to movies like “The Princess Bride,” “Ghostbusters,” and several Halloween classics.
Hopefully, the Orlando site will regularly pay tribute to Disney classics in honor of its magical location.
