Adidas’ Adizero SL2 Daily Running Sneaker Brings Lightstrike Pro Foam for Just $130

Adidas has quietly launched the Adizero SL2, a daily running sneaker that utilizes the brand’s top Lighstrike Pro foam at an affordable price point.
The Adidas Adizero SL2 features a full-length Lightstrike Pro drop-in for its midsole, packing the foam in between layers of regular Lightstrike foam. The amount of Lightstrike Pro foam doubles that of its predecessor, the Adizero SL, resulting in a higher energy return while still allowing the Lightstrike foam to keep both the weight and cost down. Men’s pairs come in at 236 grams and the women’s 200 grams.
Lightstrike Pro foam is used in full for the midsole of Adidas’ range of super shoes made up of the Adizero Adios Pro 3, Adizero Adios Pro Evo and race-illegal Adizero Prime X 2 Strung. Each of those shoes also utilize carbon fiber plates, one of the essential features in the super shoe category.
A new and soft engineered mesh upper hosts light padding at the heel and tongue, and the outsole has been updated to provide traction in targeted areas. The stack height comes in at 36mm with a drop of 10mm.

Adidas dropped the Adizero SL2 alongside the new Supernova Prima, which comes with 13 percent more Dreamstrike+ foam than its highly acclaimed predecessor, the Supernova Rise. An ergonomically designed Lighttraxion outsole works in conjunction with the midsole’s support rods, and the additional tech makes the Supernova more of a higher-budget daily trainer.
For its debut, the Adizero SL2 comes in four colorways for men and and three for women. Both men and women get a predominantly black version with a sole unit that makes use of pink and orange. Additional versions for men then arrive in “Lucid Lemon;” white, black and orange; and black and white. The two other women’s variants then come in white or pink and white.
The Adidas Adizero SL2 is out now through Adidas’ website and stores, as well as select third-party retailers. Pricing is set at $130.
