The 77th Kings Fair comes back to Hanford
HANFORD, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The 77th annual Kings Fair 2024 in Hanford features four days of fun-filled activities including live animal attractions, rides, and a variety of delicious fair foods.
From Thursday, June 13 through Sunday, June 16, the Kings Fair will offer attractions such as the Sea Lion Splash, where two sea lions named Maya and Lily will perform tricks for the public.
Payton Ryan, the Marketing Director for the Kings Fair, says she feels lucky that the fair is able to bring an ocean appeal to the Central Valley.
“They’re just wonderful and those girls, they are both girls, Maya and Lily, they are so cute, and they are so happy to be there,” Ryan said.
The fair also features a live exotic bird attraction with Wildlife Wendy, who showcases the birds’ variety of talents including speaking, singing, and playing basketball. Ryan also looks forward to the community’s reactions.
“Seeing how excited and how happy people are and they come in, when they’re eating their fair food, when they’re on carnival rides it just really, you know, it warms my heart,” Ryan said.
Other animals that can be found on the fairgrounds include goats, turkeys, pigs, rabbits, and cows. Alexandra Macedo, a former Future Farmers of America member appreciates the fair’s efforts in keeping the agricultural significance of the Central Valley flourishing.
“I love what this does for our community, which brings people together to showcase our agricultural background that’s so prevalent in the Central Valley, but also giving families something to do,” former FFA member Alexandra Macedo said.
