The $6 drugstore product 'Empire' actress Serayah uses to get rid of blackheads
Serayah McNeill portrays diva-in-the-making Tiana on Fox’s smash series Empire. Besides her head full of lush curls, another standout physical feature of the actress is her virtually flawless complexion. But the 22-year-old reveals to Yahoo Lifestyle that she “tends to get a lot of discoloration and actually lighter spots on my skin.”
“I do go through those stages where I’m tanner or getting lighter and the pigmentation starts getting weird,” says McNeill. “So it’s really important to me that I exfoliate deeply and really moisturize.”
Now that she is a brand ambassador for Bioré, we’d bet her medicine cabinet is fully stocked with everything she needs to help keep her skin in check.
To make sure her face is fully cleansed before a full day of filming, McNeill uses the Baking Soda Cleanser ($7) “because it’s really refreshing.” Then she spritzes on rose water and moisturizes with cocoa butter.
Her hero product from Bioré: the cult favorite Pore Strips ($6). “After a couple of weeks of makeup and lots of wear and tear with the skin, they really do a deep stripping of blackheads,” she says.
Before she hits the sheets at bedtime, McNeill “uses a lot of natural oils” such as tea tree oil, which boasts antibacterial and antifungal properties that help to even out skin tone and fight blemishes.
Even though she swears by department store brands like NARS, Make Up Forever, and Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, McNeill is quite the drugstore beauty queen. She fills her shopping cart with false eyelashes, L’Oréal Paris True Match Concealer, hair masks by SheaMoisture, and Black Opal makeup.
We can’t wait to bump into her in the beauty aisle!
