5 Bridesmaids Reveal Their Friends' Worst Bridezilla Moments
We've all been there. We've maybe all even been that person (I kindly asked my BFFs to not contribute their stories to this piece... :) ). And yet, we cannot help but dissect the bridesmaid process piece by piece, disseminating the very worst bits to empathize with others and swearing we'll never do it again. Without further ado, 5 women on their bride-friends' most ridiculous moments.
A moment that stuck out to me [throughout her engagement] is when she screamed at me for asking her who I was paired with in the wedding party. We'd had two showers and a bachelorette weekend for her by that point (...among other things like a bridesmaids brunch and attending dress fittings) and the simple question set her off. Kiiind of made me resent how much I was doing as a bridesmaid by the end," Alicia U.
"We flew [the bride] from New York to South Carolina for her surprise bachelorette party (which also went insanely smoothly...at least I thought it had), but afterward, she told me in a whiny phone conversation that I "wasn't doing a good job of being very present in her wedding." Do you know why? Because I and one other bridesmaid did not pick her up from her apartment before heading to the airport for the bachelorette. Instead, we had her come to the bridesmaid's place, which was much closer to the airport than she was," Andrea C.
"I had the honor of serving as a bridesmaid for one of my dearest friends. She is extremely chill, so I knew her wedding would be a piece of cake. I was wrong, so wrong. Not because of her, though, but because of her insane, self-appointed maid of honor older sister. The day of, we arrive and her very bossy, very systematic sister greets us each with our own color coded diagram showing us exactly what and how we would be setting up decorations and tables. We also each had a list of to-dos we had to complete AND check in with her after we completed a task to get approval before we could move on to the next. We had to do all this, do our own hair and make up, get dressed, and line up for pictures and such before vows were exchanged. Myself and the other ladies in the bridal party were beyond heated, but nothing an open bar (thank you, Jesus) couldn't fix. So after a night of heavy drinking, and Cupid Shuffling in heels, we were all very much ready to call it a night and leave... but not so fast. Cue the bride's sister with her list of tasks we each had to complete before we were allowed to leave!" Melissa C.
"The worst part about [being part of this bridal party] was that the bride continued to insist she was being "super chill" the whole time. That's not exactly true, as she lost her mind when half of us showed up wearing silver jewelry on the day of. Yeah, she'd told us however we'd wanted to accessorize was fine, but apparently we were supposed to read her mind and all wear gold instead," Jessica L.
"We are...no longer friends after she cost me a good $5,000 and became a terrible human being," Katie O.
