4-year-old crawls under bathroom door at Chick-fil-A to ask stranger for help washing his hands

Andrew Hall got quite a surprise while taking a bathroom break during his shift at Chick-fil-A.

While sitting on the toilet at the fast food chain in Lynchburg, Va., Levi Stevens, 4, crawled under the stall door to ask for help washing his hands. Hall’s video of the encounter has since gone viral, with more than 10 million views on Twitter.

“I just see his little head pop under the stall, and I was like, ‘This kid’s not actually come under here, is he? I’m just gonna start recording in case something happens,'” Hall told WSET.

According to Levi’s mom, Melissa Stevens, she had told her son to go and wash his hands, and he had taken off to go to the men’s room when she actually wanted them to go into the women’s room together.

The problem was, his dad wasn’t there. “I want someone to hold me and help me wash my hands,” Levi explained to Hall.

Melissa said that she was standing outside the bathroom and had opened the door and yelled for Levi to come out. She noted that she didn’t feel her son was in any danger and that she could hear the conversation from outside the bathroom.

The next morning, “I get a call from a friend asking if I had seen ‘the viral video of a kid that looks like Levi” in the Chick-fil-A bathroom, Melissa wrote on her Facebook page. “We were there last night. … I held my breath and watched the video of my sweet, fearless boy asking for help to wash his hands.”

Levi’s dad, Len Stevens, weighed in on the situation on Twitter:

Other reactions to the video have been overwhelmingly positive. “Fearless, and sweet,” one person wrote of Levi. Another said, “This is the best! So precious!!!”
