2024 Gritty Chix Mud Run to benefit New River Conservancy
OAK HILL, WV (WVNS) — It is time to get muddy and dirty in the tenth Gritty Chix Mud Run at ACE Adventure Resort!
Third Annual Elder Abuse Awareness Walk hosted by Family Refuge Center
This fun event will be on Saturday, June 22, 2024 where participants can sprint, walk, skip, or dance through an obstacle course filled with walls, tubes, and mud pits. Every year, part of the registration price is donated to a good cause for the community and this year the New River Conservancy will benefit from the event.
Over 700 people from West Virginia and other states will attend and try to take on the Moxie Mile or the 5K Tenacious Trail. The two courses have different levels of difficulty, and all challenges are doable, but can be skipped. ACE Adventure Resort suggests that runners “go for it before going around it” and help in anyway they can.
Runners can be part of a team or take on the challenge themselves. Cheerleaders, costumes, glitter, face paint, and anything spirit oriented are encouraged. This run is not just for Gritty Chix, but for Dirty Dudes, and kids too!
There will be prizes for different categories such as, Most Creative Team Name, Best Costume, and Furthest Traveled. At 2:00 P.M., free live music will start the event at The Lost Paddle Bar & Grill at the ACE Adventure Resort.
Anyone participating can register on the day of the event, but ACE Adventure Resort encourages signing up beforehand since the run starts at 9:00 A.M. Advanced registration and special Gritty Chix discounts end on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.
