Ariana Grande calls out ‘degrading’ online impersonators: ‘This is really how it feels’
Ariana Grande is calling out her social media impersonators, criticizing the online trend as “degrading.”
The “thank u, next” singer shared the comments in a now-deleted post on her Instagram story, which she shared on April 22. According to Cosmopolitan, the post included a video of actor and writer Jordan Firstman, who shared a video of himself doing an “impression of a meme” on his own Instagram.
Grande added her own commentary to the clip, addressing TikTok users who have created videos in which they impersonate Cat Valentine, the singer’s character from the Nickelodeon TV show “Victorious.”
“Omg can this please also double as your impression of the ponytail TikTok girls who think doing that Cat Valentine voice and that wearing winged eyeliner and a sweatshirt is doing a good impersonation of me …’” Grande wrote of Firstman’s video. “Cause this is really how it feels.”
If you can believe it.... more impressions.

Grande then added a quote from Firstman’s clip, which she seemed to apply to her own copycats.
“‘Degrading its entire value’ I screamed,” Grande wrote.
This isn’t the first time the “7 Rings” singer has called out online impersonators. In November 2019, Grande shared a series of tweets questioning why social media users consistently pose as her “Victorious” character instead of the “actual” version of her.
“I just wonder whyyyy the cat voice / dialogue,” Grande tweeted at the time. “It’s definitley bizarre seeing people blend the two worlds lmao.”
