131-year-old University District home listed for nearly $1 million

A University District home built in the late 1800s has hit the market for nearly $1 million.

The brick home, on King Avenue west of Neil Avenue, was built around 1893 in a Queen Anne style.

With four bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms in 3,311 square feet, the home has been listed for $975,000 by Al Waddell, with RE/MAX Partners.

Recent upgrades include the kitchen and the primary suite bathroom and closet.

In addition to the kitchen, the main floor includes a formal entry hall, living room and dining room, a half bath, and a family room with exposed brick walls and a vaulted ceiling overlooking the backyard.

Period details can be found throughout, including pocket doors, extensive wood trim, original fireplaces, hardwood floors, a stained-glass window in the main stairway landing, and built-in cabinets and a vintage chandelier in the dining room.

Two stairways lead to the second floor, which includes two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a laundry room.

Two more bedrooms, along with a remodeled full bathroom and sitting room can be found on the third floor, which is serviced by its own heating and air conditioning unit.
