12 New Amazon Fashion Arrivals I'm Buying Based on a Style Expert's Advice

As a shopping editor, I spend hours each day scouring Amazon for can’t-miss deals, trending products, and under-the-radar curations. But despite my talent for navigating the retailer’s endless pages, I still turn to the fashion buffs in my circle to guide me in the right direction. That’s why I asked style expert Taryn Hicks of the Instagram account @taryntruly about her favorite fall trends and used her insights to sort through Amazon’s new fashion arrivals section.

The retailer dropped more than 3,000 new items this month from brands like Levi’s, Coach, and The Drop. And with the help of Hicks’ fashion advice, I narrowed down the selection to the only 12 pieces worth checking out — starting at $24.

When I asked Hicks about her favorite fall trend, she immediately answered with “oversized jackets and blazers.” The style expert said she loves “having a few different affordable jackets on hand that you can throw over a more basic outfit.” So naturally, I started looking for outerwear and fell in love with this oversized boucle blazer from The Drop. I already own the jacket in black, but the newly launched tweed style is the chic and sophisticated blazer of my dreams. It comes in sizes XXS through 5XL, and it will look great paired with jeans, trousers, midi skirts — you name it.

Hicks is also a fan of this season’s red trend, and she even shared her own spin on the look. “A lot of people think if you’re going to wear red that it all has to be the same color, but I love mixing and matching the reds,” she said. The content creator recommends “taking a burgundy sweater and doing a bright pant, or vice versa.” Lucky for us, I found a red Dokotoo pullover sweater on sale for just $31 with an on-site coupon. It has a ribbed crew neckline, slouchy drop shoulders, and subtle side slits for a lived-in look and feel. I can see myself wearing this cozy sweater with everything from leggings to a silk skirt.

Of course, Amazon dropped tons of new shoes, too, and as a self-proclaimed “grunge girlie,” Hicks says moto boots are “are a staple for this fall.” The Lucky Brand leather motorcycle boots come in three neutral colors — black, brown, and beige — and are designed with two side buckles and a zipper closure. Plus, the boots have rubber lug soles, which is great for someone like me who always finds something to trip over. I’ve been looking for a new pair of black boots this season, and this trendy style, practical design, and discounted price convinced me to press “Add to Cart.”

No fashion haul is complete without a few accessories, and Hicks is “loving the pops of metallics” that are everywhere this season. I’m channeling the trend with this just-launched shoulder bag from The Drop that comes in silver croc-embossed faux leather. It has a foldover flap with a magnetic closure, as well as a zippered interior pocket and room for your phone, cards, keys, and lipstick. What stands out most to me, though, is that you can wear the bag with a wide range of outfits; style it casually for weekend brunch with a pair of jeans and a sweater, or dress it up for a night out with a mini dress and heels. But if metallics aren’t your thing, you’ll be happy to know the bag comes in three other colors, including classic black, neutral beige, and autumnal green.
