4 Instant, Natural Ways to Stay Healthy While Traveling
If even the thought of a flight has you reaching for a sleep aid or anti-nausea pill, Vicky Vlachonis, osteopath, pain expert, and author of The Body Doesn’t Lie, has some advice for you: Next time you’re on a plane (or anywhere stressful), try pressing on one of two pressure points that Vlachonis highlights in the Yahoo Health video above:
If you feel uncomfortable while flying, try one of Vlachonis’ favorite pressure-point tricks: Apply firm pressure to the skin between your index finger and thumb on one hand. Press as close as you can to the bone, holding down for 10 to 15 seconds. Close your eyes, breathe, and feel the pressure start to dissipate.
If you feel anxious or panicked, place two fingers flat on your chest, between the first rib and the clavicle. Hold your fingers down in the hollow space (you might feel a little tenderness) for 10 to 15 seconds, breathing deeply.
