OLATHE, Kan. – Kansas State Wildcat Eric Stonestreet gave a small business a big boost. Inspiration for its merchandise is in the name.
Exit 313 is the turn K-State fans take to get to Manhattan.
Aaron Decker is the CEO and founder of Exit 313, the company. He started a Facebook page as a passionate K-State alum in 2010.
The KSU graduate only added merchandise last month and they’ve already sold about 700 hats.

“I really truly did not anticipate the response being this fantastic,” Decker said, “and that’s a big shout out to the K-State nation.”
After a couple social media posts, sales have “kicked into high gear”.
Decker’s good friend and fellow K-State Alum Eric Stonestreet posted a picture a few hours after the hats went live.
No surprise, Decker said it’s their best seller.
He met Stonestreet in a college play. It’s also where Decker met his wife, and his son now attends KSU.
Decker said that’s what these hats are about, highlighting the stop for memories, careers and friendships.
“When people drive past that, or they pull off on that exit, those are the things that come back to them, about things that were built in Manhattan, while they were in college,” Decker said. “Because it’s such a time of development and really figuring out who you are and I think for a lot of people that matters and that resonates with them.”

Decker sells nearly 30 different designs.
After drivers coming in from the west wanted to make their sign notable – they created the Exit 303 hats.
“We might have to do a 303 lavender, a 313 purple. we might have to dabble in both,” President of Kansas City Catbackers Kyler Jost said.
He’s from Central Kansas and now lives in the Kansas City area.
He said seeing that 313 exit sign is one of the best parts of football season, because it means you’re almost to Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
“Exit 313 is your last turn, you turn onto Highway 177, and then there on your right, it says Bill Snyder Highway and you know you’re almost there,” Jost said, “and you’re almost to the tailgate scene.”
An Exit 313 hat was also spotted on a fan in Kenny Chesney’s recent post.
Decker said new orders are coming in every day, from all over Kansas and across the country.
“We even shipped one over to a service member over in Germany,” Decker said. “So we even had some international orders as well.”
“Wildcats are everywhere,” Jost said.
As for the road ahead, Exit 313 is planning to roll out more merchandise, like koozies, shirts and hoodies.
