New York Comedy Club to open new location on Upper West Side
MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) – New York Comedy Club will be opening a new location on the Upper West Side in Manhattan this summer.
New York Comedy Club plans to open its new location at 236 West 78th St. The 140-seat venue will be located in the space previously occupied by the comedy club Stand Up NY, which relocated in March, West Side Rag reported.
The Upper West Side venue will be New York Comedy Club’s third location in Manhattan. It also has venues at 241 East 24th St. in Midtown and 85 East 4th St. in the East Village, as well as a location in Stamford, Connecticut.
“Each of our clubs has a slightly different vibe. Our Gramercy club is very intimate. Or, if you want something a little more gritty, go to the East Village. If you’re closer to the suburban neighborhoods in Connecticut, you’re going to go to the one in Stamford,” New York Comedy Club co-owner Emilio Savone said. “We view the Upper West Side venue as kind of like a hybrid of all of it. It’s still going to have that New York energy but with a polished feel.”
New York Comedy Club hasn’t announced an exact opening date for the Upper West Side location this summer.
“We hope to announce a grand opening date soon, so please stay tuned,” New York Comedy Club co-owner E Scott Lindner said. “The New York comedy scene continues to grow, and we are honored to be growing with it!”
