‘Yellowstone’ Season 5B Trailer Teases Kevin Costner’s Exit, Sees Return Of Beth & Rip — Update
UPDATED: Paramount Network has released the first trailer for the second half of Season 5, which opens with Kevin Costner’s John Dutton back at the ranch. “Legacy,” he says as the trailer begins, pensively looking off into the distance. “You build something worth having, someone’s going to try to take it.”
The clip then moves to Cole Hauser’s Rip: “What I’m doing isn’t for the ranch. It’s for us,” he says, as the clip quickly shifts to what appears to be Kelly Reilly’s Beth Dutton pulling out a knife, We also see shots of FBI agents launching a raid and tense conversations between Beth and Jamie.

PREVIOUS, Aug. 29: We’re getting the first look at Season 5 Part 2 of Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone in some just-released photos ahead of its November 10 premiere on Paramount Network.
In the images, we see stars Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly, along with Finn Little, Gil Birmingham, Mo Brings Plenty, Kelsey Asbille, Brecken Merrill, Luke Grimes, Wes Bentley and Wendy Moniz. You can view above and below.
Yellowstone has chronicled the Dutton family who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect – the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders – an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and America’s first national park.
As we previously reported, we confirmed that negotiations are underway for a sixth season of the flagship drama to be headlined by Yellowstone standouts Reilly and Hauser.
Sources stressed at the time that the deals were not done, but the intention is for Yellowstone‘s story to continue past Season 5B, which is expected to bid farewell to its original lead character, Kevin Costner’s John Dutton. (Costner has confirmed that he won’t appear in the upcoming episodes.)
While Season 5B was originally announced as Yellowstone‘s last installment, when the teaser for its Nov. 10 premiere date was unveiled in June, it did not label the new episodes as the saga’s final chapter.
Reilly and Hauser had been negotiating new deals for months, initially thought to be for a Yellowstone offshoot. The franchise’s first contemporary spinoff, The Madison, starring Michelle Pfeiffer, is slated to follow Season 5B of the mothership series.
Yellowstone executive producers include Sheridan, Costner, John Linson, Art Linson, David C. Glasser, Bob Yari, Stephen Kay, Michael Friedman, Christina Voros and Keith Cox. The Paramount Network series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
