‘Yellowstone’ Might Be Getting a Season 6 After All (and a Fan-Favorite Couple Could Be at the Forefront)
The Dutton family may not be ready to say goodbye just yet.
After Paramount announced that Yellowstone would end after five seasons in May 2023, the network might have just done an about-face and is now in talks to produce a possible sixth season. Numerous outlets confirmed that the network is reportedly in negotiations to make a new season that centers around Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton) and her boyfriend, Cole Hauser (Rip Wheeler).

Originally, Reilly and Hauser were slated to star in Yellowstone’s new spinoff, The Madison, starring Michelle Pfeiffer. In case you didn’t know, The Madison is set to premiere after part two of Yellowstone season five debuts in November, with Kevin Costner absent from the remainder of the episodes following his exit from the series.
“Sources stress that the deals are not done but the intention is for Yellowstone‘s story to continue past Season 5B, which is expected to bid farewell to its original lead character, Kevin Costner’s John Dutton,” Deadline reported.
However, the 69-year-old actor has expressed interest in returning for Yellowstone’s conclusion. Back in March, Puck News reported that Costner has been making it known that he wants to be included in the final part of Yellowstone season five. But the outlet reported that there are currently no discussions for Costner, who played the beloved Montana rancher, John Dutton, to return in the final episodes of the series.
Aside from playing a leading role in a potential Yellowstone season six, Reilly will also play a big part in an upcoming thriller series. According to Variety, the actress is going to star in a new Sky Original series titled Under Salt Marsh. Set in a fictional Welsh town, the story will revolve around Reilly’s character Jackie Ellis, who is a detective turned teacher who makes a shocking discovery one night.
