Alex Consani Makes History as First Transgender Winner of ‘Model of The Year’ at The Fashion Awards 2024
Fellow model Ashley Graham and actress Nava Mau presented Alex Consani with the Model of the Year award at the 2024 Fashion Awards at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Monday night.
“I’m the first trans woman to win this award. I can’t accept it without thanking the females who came before me and specifically the Black trans community that really fought for the space,” said the 21-year-old model, who was wearing Dilara Findikoglu, as she picked up the award.

The supermodel has cultivated a cult following thanks to her prowess on the runway and her large social media following, amassing 3.9 million TikTok followers from her comedic videos on the platform.
Consani is a familiar high-fashion face, walking for luxury brands including Chanel, Simone Rocha, Diesel, Luar, and Stella McCartney during the spring 2025 season alone.
She was also the star of Jacquemus’s surreal holiday campaign, which was released in November. In the video, Consani is coated head-to-toe in cucumber slices, taking a rowing machine for a spin wearing kitten heels, and surrounded by strung up orange slices.
“I was obsessed with putting Alex Consani inside this campaign,” said Simon Porte Jacquemus, the brand’s founder and creative director. “And people love to see so many ideas and so much creativity.”

In October, Consani made history alongside Valentina Sampaio as the first transgender women to strut down the runway at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
“I’m trans, and I think it’s really important to have people like me on the runway being perceived as beautiful, and especially in a setting like this that’s always been very cis-oriented, it’s important to be bringing in a lot of different types of people and I’m just grateful that I was thought of, you know in that community,” said Consani backstage before the show.
Last year’s Model of the Year winner was Paloma Elsesser, who has walked for Balenciaga, Michael Kors and Chloé.
