Women Over 50 Who Won Golden Globes
As a general rule, society believes that the younger women are in accomplishing their goals and dreams, the better. And while most women go on to accomplish great things in their 20s and 30s, others prove time and time again that it’s never too late, and they’re never too old, to achieve their dreams.
At the 2023 Golden Globe Awards, for example, Michelle Yeoh made award show history when she won one of the night’s biggest awards, Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, at 60 years old.
“I turned 60 last year,” Yeoh, who won for her performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once, said in her acceptance speech. “I think all of you women understand this, as the days, the years, the numbers get bigger, it seems like opportunities start to get smaller as well. Then along came the best gift: Everything Everywhere All At Once.”
And while the trend of over 50+ actresses winning big didn’t continue to 2024, the 2025 Golden Globes might restart the history-making streak. Among the over 50 actresses nominated are Nicole Kidman, Pamela Anderson, Tilda Swinton, Fernanda Torres, Amy Adams, and Demi Moore, just to name a few.
