Wisconsin's Grace Girard shows her Midwestern charm during date with Brandon on episode 4 of 'Farmer Wants a Wife,' bond escalates quickly
Warning: Spoilers from Episode 4 of Fox's "Farmer Wants a Wife" Season 2 that aired on Thursday, Feb. 22, ahead.
Grace Girard had been subtly catching the eye of farmer Brandon Rogers through the first three weeks of "Farmer Wants a Wife," even if she was staying a bit in the background.
Rogers previously highlighted Girard's patience, kindness and calmness. But with drama between other daters looking to win his heart, the 25-year-old Caledonia woman wasn't always front and center.
Well, that all changed during Thursday's episode in a big way. And their relationship has now "escalated quickly."
It turns out all Girard needed was just some one-on-one time with Rogers to show off her sweet Midwestern charm and build on a deeper level a bond she felt was already there.
Rogers chose Girard at the end of last week's episode for a solo date. Rogers said he wanted to have a drama-free night and see if there was a connection with Girard.
"I picked this date with you because you’re a little more levelheaded," the 29-year-old Rogers told her. "You don’t really tie into all of that extracurricular stuff that goes on. That shows a lot about who you are as a person and it’s something I’m very attracted to."
Based on their date, shown at the beginning of Thursday's episode, it's clear the two have a connection. They both said the date went "great" and Girard has to be one of the favorites now for Rogers.
Here are a few takeaways from Girard's breakout episode on Fox's "Farmer Wants a Wife":
Sparks fly between Grace Girard, farmer Brandon on their solo date during episode 4 of 'Farmer Wants a Wife'
The episode started with the farmers getting solo dates with the woman each chose at the end of the last episode. But not all of the dates went great. One, in fact, ended with a dater leaving the show after she and her farmer realized they would be better off friends. Another showed a dater and her farmer not appearing compatible when discussing having children.
This wasn't the case for Girard and Rogers. Even though Girard noted that she hadn't been on a first date in a long time, she was a natural. Their date appeared fun, light-hearted and simply perfect.
Rogers took Girard to the middle of a remote ranch on his pickup truck. They pulled down the back and had a picnic. They fed each other grapes from a charcuterie board as the sun set on the fall evening while the conversation flowed smoothly. Or as Rogers put it, "the vibe check was good."
But most importantly, sparks were flying.
“I’m looking for something serious," Girard told him. Rogers said that's what he wants, too — someone to share his farm with since it can get lonely by himself.
The night even ended with a kiss.
"I am feeling chemistry with him," Girard said in a confessional. "It honestly is very easy to talk to him, even if there is awkwardness on a first date."
Girard said she's happy with how the date turned out and that she'll "be patiently waiting for more of that."
I'm starting to think "that escalated quickly" is Farmer Brandon's catchphrase. ??

Caledonia's Grace Girard says her family would approve of farmer Brandon
Girard's family appears to also be happy with how her date went.
She shared on her Instagram account Thursday night a video of her dad watching the episode and cheering after she and Rogers kissed.
"I do think my family would like you," Girard told him as they cuddled. "My family is really excited that I'm on this. I think they've been waiting for me to bring someone home. I've never really dated long-term."
Rogers lives on a remote farm in Center, Colorado, known as the agricultural center of the San Luis Valley, with a population less than 2,000. How would Girard feel about a future here?
"I’m close with my family so, you know, physically being removed from them would be a little bit difficult, but who knows where they’re going to be?" Girard told Rogers.
Girard said she could even see her parents moving out west. That piqued Rogers' interest.
"Oh really?" he replied. "Out west."
"Yeah, we’re all going to move in, actually," Girard said, laughing.
"That escalated quickly," said a smiling Rogers, using a line we heard from him when Girard previously asked Rogers' dad in episode 2 about his ex-girlfriends.
"Being willing to move to the middle of nowhere is very reassuring," Rogers said in a confessional. "I feel like she's bonded to the possibility of finding love on this adventure like I am."
It was this kind of chemistry and cute banter that make this duo click.
Farmer Brandon says goodbye to Brooklyn on 'Farmer Wants a Wife,' Grace Girard's journey continues
Back on the farm, Girard told the four other daters about her date with Rogers, telling them she got a kiss that was more than "a peck."
That made Brooklyn Bushnell a bit uneasy. She thought she had a solid bond with Rogers but was it being reciprocated?
The next day, the farmers put their daters to the test on their farms. At Rogers' farm, the daters cleaned a tractor. The daters did their best, with the show focusing on Bushnell and Annellyse Munroe, both of whom had yet to form a deeper bond with Rogers.
Rogers called the experience a "good test of character" and a chance for him to spend more time with Bushnell and Munroe.
Girard didn't get as much screen time during this part of the show but it didn't matter. She had already become a frontrunner earlier in the episode.
In the end, after a dinner at his home, Rogers said goodbye to Bushnell, a 25-year-old makeup artist from Utah.
Bushnell said she thought she had the "perfect match" with Rogers but the farmer didn't feel the same way and that their personalities didn't mix.
"I have to stay true to that one person who is going to be my person at the end," Rogers said.
