Willow Smith Sparkles in a Bedazzled Take on the Lingerie Trend for the Grammys 2025 Red Carpet
Willow Smith brought the lingerie trend to the 2025 Grammy Awards red carpet on Sunday in Los Angeles. The music artist arrived at the 67th installment of the show in a formal take on innerwear as outerwear.
Smith sparkled in a bedazzled bustier and matching briefs by Fleur du Mal that she paired with Versace’s Medusa Aevitas platform pumps. The Dior Beauty ambassador and star of Acne’s fall 2024 campaign paired the lingerie-inspired pieces with an elongated tailored jacket from McQueen’s fall 2024 collection and a handful of gold and diamond statement rings worn across her fingers.

Meanwhile her brother Jaden Smith arrived at the 2025 Grammy Awards while wearing a Louis Vuitton tuxedo and a castle as a bonnet. (Willow and Jaden’s father Will Smith is one of the presenters at this year’s ceremony.)
There is a history of lingerie-inspired looks at the Grammy Awards — especially in recent years. At the last awards ceremony, Heidi Klum wore a gown with cutouts that gave the optical illusion of a bra. In 2023, Camila Cabella wore a dress consisting of a pearl-strewn bra by designer Patricia Bonaldi of PatBO. The year before, in 2022, Saweetie wore a hot pink bustier with a matching maxi skirt and tonal opera gloves by Valentino. And 20 years earlier, Pink famously wore a tuxedo-nodding bustier with asymmetrical pants and a garter.
Willow Smith has favored lingerie-inspired looks before. In September, she wore a pair of brief-like shorts to the Acne Studios’ spring 2025 show in Paris. She paired them with a bra and a furry coat and scarf, and finished the look with thigh-high socks and slingbacks.
Lingerie-inspired looks, or innerwear as outerwear, have been trending in the wake of the runways for fall and spring 2023, specifically those belonging to Miuccia Prada, Cynthia Rowley, Tom Ford, Tory Burch, Victoria Beckham and Donatella Versace.
The 2025 Grammy Awards will bring performances from Stevie Wonder, Shakira, Cynthia Erivo, John Legend, Billie Eilish, Janelle Monáe, Sheryl Crow, Chappell Roan, Doechii, Sabrina Carpenter, Charli XCX, Raye and more.
