Why Jennifer Garner’s Boyfriend John Miller Might Be Hesitating About Their Relationship
When Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck were spotted together on Thanksgiving Day, fans began wondering what was going on in their friendship. He is in the middle of his divorce from Jennifer Lopez, and she is rumored to be engaged to John Miller, although that milestone has yet to be confirmed.
The exes have been spending quality time together over the last few months — from a trip to Japan with their three kids to a recent brunch alone together at Affleck’s new home. So, what is exactly going on between them lately? Well, a Life & Style source noted that the former duo is “closer than ever” after his split from Lopez. “They’ve developed a mutual respect and a deeper level of friendship they didn’t have before,” the insider added. “It has some friends asking if they could be on their way to getting back together.”

The person who may be questioning the situation the most is Miller, who has dated Garner on and off over the last six years. The Cali Group CEO has reportedly hesitated to take those next steps with Garner because Affleck always seems to be around. “John loves Jen, but they hardly rushed into a full-on commitment, likely because of Ben,” the source continued. “I mean, if Jen and John were going to get married, they probably would have done it already.”
Some think that Garner and Affleck’s close bond didn’t help his marriage to Lopez either. “Even when he was married to J. Lo he’d got to Jen for her advice, which as you can imagine did not do his marriage any favors,” an insider told In Touch Weekly recently. “But now he’s single again and free to talk to her 10 times a day if he wants, and there are days he does.”
Affleck and Garner have been through so much together and the Alias star was always the first person in line to help when there was a crisis. It probably makes Miller feel like it’s hard to compete with their history together. “Privately, [John] has been known to find it a little bit intimidating that she’s still so close to Ben, especially when he’s reminded about their red-hot connection back in the day,” another source told Life & Style in early December.
It’s hard to see how this love triangle will play out because it doesn’t seem like Affleck and Garner are interested in dating again. Still, it’s difficult for Miller to navigate the complexities of a former relationship that he’s not a part of.
