This Week's Biggest Sneaker Releases, and Where to Get Them
One of the biggest sneaker releases of the year is finally (finally!) here. The Nike x Sacai LDWaffle and Blazer Mid both drop today after months of anticipation, and they're as bold and innovative as we knew they would be. But don't let that distract you from the rest of the stuff that's coming out this week. There's a lot to love, including Adidas's colorful collaboration with Oyster Holdings, Under Armour's latest with Steph Curry, and a new riff on the Jordan 7 paying homage to one of the first athletes that signed with the brand. That's not even close to all of it, so keep reading to see everything.
Marty McFly's self-lacing sneakers in Back to the Future: Part II were some of the most influential to ever hit the silver screen. And now, that colorway is here on an actual pair of self-lacing sneakers that you can buy and rock and not have to pay thousands for on the secondary market. What's not to love?

No doubt one of the biggest releases of the year, the team-up between Nike and Japanese high-fashion brand Sacai led to two different sneakers with an out-there, double-up-on-everything approach. The Blazer/Dunk combo was good, but the LDWaffle, which combines the LDV and Waffle Racer, was a weirdo smash-hit.

The second part of Nike's collaboration with Sacai also doubles up on two silhouettes (noticing a theme?). This time, it's the Dunk and the Blazer, and the look is just as offbeat and impressive. We didn't know we wanted two tongues on a sneaker until now, but we most certainly do.

If high-minded Japanese designer mashups aren't your thing, maybe this will make you happy: Nike is bringing back the Air Max Tailwind 4 one more time. This go-around, it's done up in white, gold, and shades of gray. If you're into the 1999 silhouette, you can't do much better.

The Yung-1 gets a makeover courtesy of Tokyo street artist Wanto this week. The design keeps all the bold-and-bulky appeal intact and layers on a simple-but-effective colorway that sets bright hits of yellow against a mostly black upper. It's all finished off with a utilitarian lacing system that fits the vibe perfectly.

Traipsing across the globe isn't technically a sport, but maybe it should be. At least, that's the idea behind the latest collaboration between Adidas Originals and Oyster Holdings. These Sambas-available in both bright blue and yellow-are inspired by the concept of a "World Traveler's Cup" that doesn't exist. Yet.

Adidas and L.A.-based Undefeated are back with another take on the Ultra Boost. This one is pretty clean in allover-white-save for a big Undefeated branding hit on the upper in red (on the right shoe) and blue (0n the left). An American flag on the heel pull tab really drives the patriotic angle home.

It's not hard to tell what the core message of these shoes is. Hell, it's written in a bright pop of yellow right across the midsole. Steph Curry has been in the Bay Area for a decade now, and this new release of his signature shoe-on the eve of the NBA finals-is an emphatic "thank you" to Oakland.

Jordan's latest is less about His Airness himself and more about one of the first guys to sign to the brand: Ray Allen. It's the 23rd anniversary of the 1996 draft, and Allen gets the special treatment with a colorway that pays homage to his first pro team and references his first player-exclusive shoes.

June is here-or at least it will be when these sneakers drop. And that means it's Pride Month, giving the LGBTQA+ community a whole bevy of sneakers adorned with rainbow colorways in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the event. This riff on the reimagined Ozweego is one of our favorites of the bunch.

The A.R. Trainer was originally designed as a tennis shoe that could perform on clay, grass, and cement courts. But it's since become something that transcends tennis and is worn by everyone from guys working on their forehand to folks hanging out in a downtown bar. Adidas is celebrating that culture-spanning heritage with a clean colorway as part of its "Home of Classics" collection that pays homage to the universal appeal of a simple white sneaker.
