What is Anora about?
In Sean Baker’s original film, Anora, who is employed as a sex worker at HQ in Brooklyn, gets caught up in a whirlwind romance with a young Russian man named Ivan (Mark Eydelshteyn) who impusively proposes marriage to her in a form of rebellion against his parents and also because he spends a romantic week with her in Las Vegas.
The Cinderella story faces twists and turns when Ivan’s parents come to New York from Russia to get the marriage annulled.

Mikey Madison stars as the titular sex worker, who goes by Ani over her full name. Yura Borisov plays Igor, a sidekick brought along for security. Lindsey Normington plays Diamond, a sex worker at HQ who has beef with Ani. Mark Eydelshteyn plays Ivan, a young Russian boy who Ani falls for. Karren Karagulian plays Toros.
