WATCH: Sasheer Zamata, Debra Jo Rupp, and Ali Ahn talk about their coven in “Agatha All Along”
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — This week, “Agatha All Along” — the sequel series to 2021’s “WandaVision” — premiered on Disney+.
In the new show, Agatha embarks on a quest to recover her lost powers and assembles a new coven to journey down the “Witches Road” with her.
To finish off ABC4’s “Agatha All-Week Long” coverage, Film Critic Patrick Beatty met with Sasheer Zamata (Jennifer Kale), Debra Jo Rupp (Mrs. Hart), and Ali Ahn (Alice Wu-Gulliver) to talk about their coven in the show.

The trio gave an inside look at what it was like to portray their witchy characters — and on the show’s behind-the-scenes, saying when they weren’t filming, they were enjoying peanut butter jelly sandwiches and mini dance parties.
Debra shared that although the show has connections to “WandaVision”, it’s also very much its own stand-alone story.
“Jac Schaffer is creating a very unique world. She brought some of the townspeople to create continuity, but this coven of witches is its own very unique thing,” Debra said.
The three commented that whether you know everything about Marvel or not, the show is open to everyone.
“What’s great about Agatha is that it really is its own show, so you don’t have to know the whole history of Marvel in order to understand what’s going on with the show. But if you want to, there are some connections,” Sasheer said.

Ali added: “It’s a great entry for someone who’s never been involved in the other Marvel projects. I think this is a really easy way in.”
When asked what they love about each other’s characters, Ali said it was seeing how they developed.
“Everyone has to be so brave in this show, not only as their character but as performers,” Ali said. “I think everyone was asked to bring a vulnerability to the show and I loved watching these characters push through things that they’re afraid of.”
Debra remarked she really admired the costumes in the series.
“I like their clothing. They have some really great clothes. All of them. I mostly wore mud, so anybody that was dry in a fitted something, it was lovely, excellent,” she said.
Sasheer said she really enjoyed seeing how each actor made their characters come to life.
“I really liked seeing everyone’s physical work. Everyone really embodies their own character through their physicality. Ali, you can tell she was very guarded and you could see that in her shoulders. Debra Jo was just like bopping around along for the ride. And of course, Agatha has so much flourish to her. It was so cool to see everyone’s different takes on their own story,” she said.
