Westerberg noted afterwards how excited he was to learn the riff to the 1969 song. The ‘Mats also covered Chuck Berry’s “Maybellene” and the Jimi Hendirx Experience’s “Third Stone From the Sun,” along with many, many of their own standards like “Alex Chilton,” “Bastards of Young,” and “I Will Dare.”

Their current reunion tour still has three dates left; one Sept. 27 at Tempe, AZ’s Summer Ends Music Festival and another two at Austin City Limits on Oct. 5 and 12.
