Watch Chester Bennington’s ‘Carpool Karaoke’ Episode Filmed Days Before His Death (Video)
Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington appeared to be in good spirits in the days leading up to his suicide, if his group’s episode of “Carpool Karaoke” is any indication.
Linkin Park posted the episode on its Facebook page Thursday, showcasing an upbeat Bennington goofing around with his bandmates and actor/apparent Linkin Park superfan Ken Jeong.
In the episode, which was released with the blessing of Bennington’s family and bandmates, and was taped July 14, just days before Bennington’s death, Jeong and Linkin Park belt out tunes like OutKast’s “Hey Ya!” and Linkin Park’s own “Numb,” while Jeong lobbies to join the band.

Holding court behind the wheel, Bennington explains how he developed his screaming vocal style — which he describes as “screaning” — and declares, during a particularly bittersweet moment of the episode, “This is probably the greatest day of my life right now.”
Bennington was found dead in his home in Palos Verdes Estates in California, at the age of 41 as a result of hanging. According to the coroner’s office, Bennington hanged himself from a bedroom door.

News of Bennington’s death came just hours after Linkin Park released its latest music video, “Talking to Myself.” The band, which released its latest album “One More Light” in May, was scheduled to hit the road again later that month. The band subsequently canceled its upcoming tour.
