Barbie's time at the movie theater has finally come to an end, but not before it set box office records. With its $1.44 billion worldwide take in, Barbie is biggest box office hit ever directed by a female director, and as of right now the 14th biggest box office worldwide ever in general.
Is Barbie streaming?
Barbie is now officially available at your home (or Mojo Dojo Casa House, if you prefer). The hit summer blockbuster is now available to rent or purchase via digital on-demand platforms, including Prime Video, Vudu, Google Play, YouTube and more.
And very soon you can also stream it, as Barbie premieres on Max as of December 15.
What else to know about Barbie
In addition to Robbie and Gosling, the Barbie cast is stacked with big names, including Issa Rae, Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Mackey, Dua Lipa, Emerald Fennell, America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Ncuti Gawa, John Cena, Michael Cera, Rhea Perlman and Will Ferrell.
While serving as director, Greta Gerwig also co-wrote the script with Noah Baumbach. The official synopsis of the movie reads, "To live in Barbie Land is to be a perfect being in a perfect place. Unless you have a full-on existential crisis. Or you’re a Ken."
Barbie ended up with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 88% and was officially "Certified Fresh." The movie is also expected to be a major player with awards shows, including the Oscars.
