Watch Arcade Fire and David Byrne Cover Suicide at Brooklyn Show
Arcade Fire’s Reflektor tour continued to trot out distinguished guests Aug. 24, as the indie rock collective welcomed former Talking Heads frontman David Byrne to the stage.
Byrne — who obeyed Arcade Fire’s dress code by wearing a tuxedo — joined the band for a cover of Suicide’s “Dream Baby Dream” to open the set’s encore. Check out the video below to hear his distinctive vocals augment Arcade Fire’s Win Butler on the cover:

The New York-based duo Suicide — a highly influential act to the early stages of new wave — released “Dream Baby Dream” on its self-titled 1980 album. The Reflektor tour has been a calvalcade of regionally appropriate homages, with songs form Nirvana during their Washington State stop and Prince during a stop in Minnesota.
The Aug. 24 Barclays Center show also featured some high profile openers — Dan Deacon, Television, and a reunited version of the Unicorns.
On Friday night, New York Dolls frontman Buster Poindexter performed his 1987 hit “Hot Hot Hot” during Arcade Fire’s encore. Saturday night’s show featured Marky Ramone, who played drums during the band’s covers of the Ramones‘ “Down in the Basement” and “I Wanna Be Sedated.”
Next up, the Reflektor tour hits Chicago for a pair on dates on Aug. 26 and 27. Please cover The Jesus Lizard‘s “Monkey Trick.”
