Warner Bros. Won’t Release Genndy Tartakovsky’s Adult Animated Comedy Fixed
Warner Bros. Discovery and New Line are no longer releasing Fixed, the adult animated comedy from Genndy Tartakovsky.
According to a recent report from Variety, the rights to the film have reverted back to Sony Pictures Animation, who will now try to find new distribution plans for the movie. Variety notes that it’s unclear whether or not future plans for the movie include a theatrical run or a simple release straight to streaming.
What was Fixed about?
Fixed features Adam Devine, Idris Elba, Kathryn Hahn, Bobby Moynihan, Fred Armisen, Beck Bennett, Michaelle Bureau, and River Gallo in voice acting roles. The movie follows the story of Bull (Devine), a bloodhound who goes on an adventure after discovering that he’s going to be neutered soon.
Tartakovsky and Warner Bros. have a long history, with Tartakovsky behind some of Cartoon Network’s most popular programs, including Dexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack, and most recently Primal. Tartakovsky also has worked with Sony for years, having directed all three Hotel Transylvania movies.
Tartakovsky signed an exclusive, multi-year overall deal with Cartoon Network and Warner Bros. Animation in 2022, although it’s currently unclear what the creator has planned for the future.
