On this episode of Kyle Meredith With…, Wallows chat about their new project Model, a record they call their “most freeing album.” Listen to bandmates Dylan Minnette, Braeden Lemasters, and Cole Preston above, or wherever you get your podcasts, and watch the full interview below.
Diving into the new set of songs, the three Wallows members explain how they feel the new project is a direct response to their 2022 effort Tell Me That It’s Over, with themes of heartbreak and infatuation weaved throughout the tracklist. The trio also chats about the songs that didn’t make the album, as well as how they feel like they still have yet to write their best songs. Finally, they reminisce on covering The Strokes’ B-sides, paying homage to *NSYNC, and embodying the rock energy of T. Rex.
