'The Voice': Coaches get competitive for four-chair turn, Blake Shelton loses awkwardly

The King has spoken.
Blake Shelton had "the best day" on "The Voice" during night four of Blind Auditions Monday after landing several one-chair turns on his team, including Jon Mullins.
Mullins, who sang Andy Grammer's "Don't Give Up On Me" in honor of his wife's miraculous medical journey, dubbed the country crooner "The King." And it's safe to say the flattery totally went to Shelton's head.
"Just being here and being on the team with the King… I'm just excited to be here," Mullins said as the other coaches squirmed in disapproval.
"Former King," John Legend quipped. Kelly Clarkson "kind of vomited a little in my mouth," she admitted. Nick Jonas said Mulllins "ruined all of our lives by calling Blake 'The King.' Blake is the king of deception."

Shelton believes the lack of competition is a godsend: "'The Voice' gods are going, 'Here you go, Blake. You shouldn’t have to compete for this great artist.' "
But Shelton's cakewalk quickly ended, because the competition resumed with an epic four-chair turn, putting Shelton's questionable pitching skills on full display.
Mike Jerel, 31, stunned with his rendition of James Brown "It's A Man's Man's Man's World" from the opening note, prompting Legend and Jonas to instantly turn. Clarkson and Shelton followed suit.
Shelton tried an unconventional approach to lure Jerel over to his team. He said, "I didn’t think that was you. I thought that was a girl singing."
Legend used flattery ("Everything you did was done with such a level of confidence, note for note"); Jonas tried reverse psychology ("If I were in your shoes I would pick John, but wouldn’t it be nice to win the competition having made the choice no one expected?"); and Clarkson pulled the sympathy card ("If you want to stand out, I don’t have any males on my team.")
Struggling with his decision, Jerel invited his mother on stage and asked her for advice. She advised Jerel to join Team Legend, who plays the piano like her son.
"It’s okay to disappoint your mom every now and then," Shelton countered.
In the end, Jerel selected Legend as his coach.
Sorry Shelton: You win some, you lose some.
