'Virgin River' Star Alexandra Breckenridge Shares Video of Chicken Coop "Debacle"
Virgin River might not be returning to our screens until 2025 but Alexandra Breckenridge is keeping us entertained in the meantime.
On Saturday, August 17, the 42-year-old actress, who stars as Mel on the hit Netflix drama, took to Instagram to share a hilarious encounter that left her yelling for help.
“I got locked in the coop today,” she captioned the post. “I yelled and yelled for help. Now we know I can’t be heard from in our house.”
In the video, Alexandra’s husband and son run to her rescue. When they arrive at the coop, they find her stuck inside with the chickens.
“Oh, you had to get the phone,” Alexandra can be heard saying. “I came in here to clean the waters out because they always make the water dirty, and to give them nice tomato treats, and then this thing closed behind me.”
The Virgin River star went on to lament to her husband about how she’d been yelling for him and even yelled after a neighbor on his golf cart, who promptly ignored her pleas. “He didn’t even look at me and I was yelling at him,” she exclaimed. “What is wrong with people? Who is that person? What a jerk!”
While landing in the silly situation made Alexandra late for her very last session of ADR for Virgin River Season 6, it highlighted an important opportunity for home improvement: adding a string to the latch so it can be opened from the inside, too.
Fans couldn’t help but laugh over the whole predicament. “To be fair that’s the most virgin river thing that could happen,” one Instagram user commented. “Locked in the chicken coop—might be the best ever excuse for being late for an important meeting,” another fan quipped. “lol I have the string and have used it for that reason exactly,” someone else chimed in.
