'Vanderpump Rules' Scheana Shay Shares Blunt Opinion of Candace Cameron Bure
Scheana Shay has a strong opinion of Full House actress Candace Cameron Bure—and she's not sugarcoating it.
The Vanderpump Rules star recently got brutally honest about meeting Bure during the "really early days" of the Bravo show, but apparently, the interaction wasn't exactly pleasant.
"The first time I met Candace Cameron, she wasn't very nice," Shay, 39, said during the Friday, Aug. 2 episode of her Scheananigans With Scheana Shay podcast. "She was hosting this event with Pandora. It was maybe Season 2."
Shay remembered feeling "so excited to meet" Bure, 48, after "growing up watching Full House," but meeting the actress face-to-face made everything change for her.
According to the TV personality, Bure was "so dismissive," giving Shay the impression that she "wasn't cool enough or big enough to be hanging out with her."
After the icy interaction, Shay said she "didn't want to watch Fuller House," the reboot Full House series, "because of that one experience" with Bure, known for playing D.J. Tanner on the hit family sitcom.
But Shay isn't the only star to speak out about having a negative experience with Bure, who also became wrapped up in a social media war with JoJo Siwa, who said something similar about the actress in 2022.
Siwa, 21, claimed in a TikTok video that Bure was the "rudest" celebrity she ever met, but the two later sorted out their differences when Bure publicly reached out to Siwa to smooth things over.
However, their cordial friendship didn't last very long after Siwa later criticized Bure for her statements about non-"traditional" marriage, which the Dance Moms star—along with many fans and even a few other celebs—felt was an attack on LGBTQ+ marriages.
