Uncle Phil And Aunt Viv Debate Ashley’s Teenage Angst In Exclusive ‘Bel-Air’ Teaser
The Banks family is back in the third installment of Bel-Air as they individually and collectively attempt to navigate the ups and downs of life in modern-day Los Angeles. This season, each character steps into a new era and for young Ashley, played by Akira Akbar, this means a romantic, coming-of-age journey.
In the exclusive preview of episode 8, her parents, Vivian and Phil (Cassandra Freeman and Adrian Holmes), confront each other in their confusion and frustration with her dating choices. In previous seasons, Ashley rejected labels of her sexuality, though the character has queer experiences.
“I don’t like how slick he is,” expresses a disapproving Uncle Phil about her new, male love interest. “I thought she was into girls. What? Is it boys now?”
“Everything has a little more kick to it this season; the colors are more vibrant, the sound is elevated, the cinematography is more immersive,” detailed executive producer and director Morgan Cooper. “The vibe really sets the tone for Will’s first Bel-Air summer: Three months to shine, explore, and make moves under the LA sun.
“In season three, Will’s ready to level up his way, even if it means going against the grain of what’s expected. His potential is limitless, but he still has a lot to learn. As Will expands his horizons, we see the Banks family navigating new, complex relationship dynamics. It’s definitely a season of change for everyone, and we can’t wait to share this next chapter of Bel-Air. “
