Tyrese Gibson in Talks to Join Jared Leto in Sony Marvel Movie ‘Morbius’

“Fast and Furious” star Tyrese Gibson will bring his racing chops to television for a celebrity car racing series.Gibson has teamed up with “Survivor” and “The Voice” creator Mark Burnett and MGM Television for “Celebrity Grand Prix,” a competition show which will pit stars against one another in a professional car race. Per MGM, the series is described as a “fast-paced competition where celebrities from all walks of life will be trained by professional race car drivers, and then face off on the race track. The star with the slowest time will be eliminated each week.”Gibson will serve as host in addition to executive producing alongside Burnett. Tyrese Gibson is in talks to join the cast of Sony’s “Morbius,” an individual with knowledge of the deal has confirmed to TheWrap.
The “Fast & Furious” star’s potential role is being kept under wraps. Gibson would be the fourth major star to join the film alongside Jared Leto, Matt Smith and Jared Harris. The film will star Leto as the titular vampire, who debuted in the “Spider-Man” comics as a scientist turned into a bloodthirsty villain after an ill-fated attempt to cure a blood disease. Morbius later became the antihero star of his own comic book series in the 1990s.
Daniel Espinosa will direct from a script by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, with Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach producing with Lucas Foster. Palek Patel will oversee the project on behalf of Sony.
