Tyla Wore Bold New Nike Air Max Sneakers at Travis Scott’s 2025 Cactus Jack Foundation HBCU Celebrity Softball Game
Tyla sported eye-catching Nikes on the field at the 2025 Cactus Jack Foundation HBCU Celebrity Softball Classic in Houston, Texas on Thursday.
The “Water” singer, who just won Best African Music Performance at the Grammy Awards, showed off a new silhouette from the iconic sportswear brand. She wore the Air Max Muse, which is defined by high arches that give way to chunky bubble heels. The bold sneakers boast a mint green and black upper with red Swooshes and accents. The exaggerated style, which debuted in limited quantities in December, is also stamped with “am” for Air Max in metallic silver on the tongue tab and heel counter.

Retailing for $160, the Nike Air Max Muse in “Oil Green” is available to shop online via doverstreetmarket.com. Jordan Chiles wore a silver metallic version to throw the ceremonial first pitch at an Atlanta Braves game in September. More colorways are expected to drop throughout 2025.
“This silhouette was designed to surprise women sneaker fans, capturing their attention and imagination with a new application of Air — something they’ve never seen before,” women’s footwear designer Can Eldem said in a press release. “Our goal was to design an entirely new Air Max model focused on both expression and comfort, making the silhouette uniquely hers — sleek, beautiful and bold — while offering the kind of innovation and cushion that she expects from the Air Max franchise.”
It was just announced today that the South African sensation has inked an endorsement deal with Nike. Other artists to collaborate with the Swoosh include Travis Scott, Billie Eilish, and Drake. Speaking to Clash Music magazine, the Johannesburg native shared her excitement about the new partnership.
“I mean, I’m a Nike girl. I love the brand. Nike isn’t just athletic clothes, it’s fashion. I really like that because when I wear Nike, it doesn’t feel like I’m just putting on a shoe or shirt. You feel fly wearing it,” she said. “All the collabs, vintage Nike, it’s always been something that I gravitated toward. I also love how diverse Nike is. I’m really excited to work together, not only to wear the clothes but to hopefully create something with the team too. Maybe a Tyla shoe? That would be fire.”
The breakout star has become known for her attention-grabbing fashion choices. Notably, she showed off strappy, crystal-embellished Rene Caovilla sandals during her Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show performance in 2024. Tyla also made headlines for channeling late R&B icon, Aaliyah, at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards. She hit the red carpet in a blue version of a famous yellow zebra-print gown by Roberto Cavalli that Aaliyah wore to the MTV VMA awards in 2000. Also of note is that Tyla paid homage to Rihanna by wearing DSquared2’s “Riri” sandals, a thigh-high look inspired by the Fenty mogul, in her “Push 2 Start” music video in November.
