‘Twilight’ Book Series Gets 20th Anniversary Edition, Because Vampires Live Forever

Whether it makes you say “Oh my God” or “Sounds about right,” the fact is that Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight was released 20 years ago. To celebrate, publisher Little Brown Books will be releasing two collectible editions of the first book and a box set of the series.

As reported by People, the 20th-anniversary release, announced today, will be available on Sept. 30, 20 years to the week of the original book’s publication. The books are available to pre-order today.

The pièce de résistance is the deluxe hardcover box set, which compiles the four original books and Midnight Sun, the 2020 novel that retold Twilight from Edward’s perspective. The box set features new cover art for each book and details like fore-edge paintings and a wraparound box.

The first novel is also getting a standalone deluxe release, with a slipcase and new cover art featuring a floral design.

The first book was published in 2005, and the books in the series were released once a year until 2008’s Breaking Dawn. Likewise, the movies were released at a breakneck clip, with the first film released in 2008 and subsequent films following annually, with the final book being split into two parts in 2011 and 2012. The series stars Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, and Robert Pattinson.
In addition to the release of the book’s deluxe edition, LEGO released a 2,001-piece set of the Cullen house, replete with details like Charlie and his rust-red truck, the wall of graduation caps, and even the salad bowl dropped by Rosalie.
