Daigle was sporting a blue and red plaid off-the-shoulder dress, while Trombone Shorty opted for a teal-colored jacket, white shirt and dark jeans.
Daigle, most known for her song “You Say,” is a Christian artist who has frequently topped Billboard‘s Top Christian Albums and Hot Christian Songs charts. She has also won two Grammy Awards throughout her music career.
As for jazz musician Trombone Shorty (real name Troy Andrews), he’s previously topped Billboard‘s Contemporary Jazz Albums and Jazz Albums charts. He also earned a Grammy for his work on Jon Batiste’s album We Are, which won album of the year in 2022.
Other artists performing during the Super Bowl 2025 include Kendrick Lamar, who will be taking to the field for the halftime show with SZA. Most details of his performance have been kept under wraps, however, he teased during a press conference earlier this week, saying that viewers should expect “storytelling” that will help his biggest audience yet immerse themselves in his music.
Batiste also performed the National Anthem, while Ledisi sang “Lift Every Voice and Sing” ahead of the championship game.
The Kansas City Chiefs are taking on the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday night at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX. Check out The Hollywood Reporter‘s Super Bowl coverage here.
