Tonya Harding and Adam Rippon among early favorites on 'Dancing with the Stars'
The 26th season of Dancing with the Stars premiered Monday, and former Olympic figure skaters ruled the night. Three of the top four performances belonged to Tonya Harding, Mirai Nagasu, and Adam Rippon.
Tonya Harding continued her rise in popular culture following the success of the film I, Tonya. An emotional Harding put on a wonderful show with her partner, Sasha Farber.
“You shouldn’t be weeping, you should be happy because that was a lovely performance,” said judge Len Goodman. Harding received 23 points from the judges, which tied Nagasu for second place.
Rippon, who rose to fame as the first openly gay U.S Winter Olympic athlete, is also an early favorite. His cha-cha with partner Jenna Johnson won over the judges and the audience. His score of 24 tied with Josh Norman for the highest of the night.
Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC. Watch clips and full episodes of Dancing With the Stars for free on Yahoo View.
