‘Today’ Show Stars' Reactions to Being Pranked With Their Old High School Photos Have Fans in Stitches: ‘That’s Just Mean’

The stars of the Today show were slightly mortified (but not really) after being presented with some throwback photos of themselves on set, and it made for a hilarious moment for fans.

In a fun new video from behind-the-scenes during filming, hosts of the popular broadcast Craig Melvin, Hoda Kotb, Jenna Bush Hager, Sheinelle Jones and Dylan Dreyer were all pranked by colleagues, who approached them asking to have old photos signed.

Luckily for viewers and fans of the show, it was all caught on camera and shared via social media.

The Instagram post first featured an unassuming Melvin sitting at his desk, as the person filming the content approached him asking, "Can you just sign this for us?"

Upon flipping the paper right-side-up, which was initially faced down, all the anchor could do was laugh at the sight of a younger version of himself wearing a turtleneck and holding a violin.

"Well played," he admitted. "I have seen this God awful violin picture more than any human should see an embarrassing picture from his childhood. Look at those glasses. I was what the kids call a late bloomer," he jokingly added while signing the years-old printed out snap.

Next up were Bush Hager and Kotb, who were immediately underwhelmed by the sight of the images. "Oh gosh... oh geez," Kotb genuinely lamented, while Bush Hager said, "That's just mean."

"Who is he?" the former first daughter continued to joke of her younger self. "Put it on eBay, you might make a couple bucks."

Jones, on the other hand, was astonished, gasping, "Oh my gosh! So many memories at Wichita High School," before asking, "Do I look the same?" and busting into a similar pose as the one she was doing in the picture.

Meanwhile, Dreyer, when presented with her throwback photo, couldn't help but inquire, "What is this?!" before bursting out into laughter.

"Is that a glamour shot?" Melvin poked fun as he and Jones shared a hearty chuckle.

"Judging by those braces—1994," she responded.

Fans couldn't help but get in on the good time themselves, hopping into the comment section with their own unfiltered reactions.

"Glamour shots continue to come back and haunt us," one said, while another inquired, "How does Dylan look younger than a picture from 30 years ago??"

"What a fun idea! It’s great to see there [sic] reactions!??," a third appreciated.

"Craig's is my favorite ????," wrote a fourth, as an additional viewer called the gallery of pictures "epic throwbacks."

"'Who is he?' ??," an additional commenter reiterated of Bush Hager's comical response, with another chiming in pointing out "Hoda’s reaction ??."

Best of all, someone else suggested, "They should totally dress as their old selves for Halloween," and we don't think that's a bad idea!
