Tim Robinson Comedy The Chair Company Lands Series Order at HBO

Tim Robinson is set to bring his signature brand of absurdity to HBO following a series order of his new half-hour comedy, The Chair Company.
Robinson has teamed back up with his writing partner Zach Kanin for the project, while Adam McKay is set to executive produce. This also marks a reunion for HBO and McKay, as the writer/director acted as a producer for the award-winning Succession.
According to the official logline, The Chair Company centers on a man named William Ronald Trosper (played by Robinson) who “finds himself investigating a far-reaching conspiracy” after an “embarrassing incident at work.” It’s a scenario that doesn’t sound far off from the characters that populate Netflix’s I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson, which Robinson co-created with Kanin.
This will mark the third major outing for the two, who met as writers on SNL and also created the half-hour comedy Detroiters, in which Robinson starred opposite Sam Richardson.
Other series regulars in The Chair Company include Lake Bell as Barb Trosper, Sophia Lillis as Natalie Trosper, Will Price as Seth Trosper, and Joseph Tudisco as Mike Santini.
Robinson’s latest movie, Friendship, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month. Revisit our list ranking every wild and wonderful sketch from the Emmy-winning I Think You Should Leave.
