The game of love

While the Game of Thrones relationships onscreen are at times difficult to follow and include incestuous couples, off-camera the cast seems to have blooming (and healthier) relationships. The most recent announcement came this past weekend, when Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark on the show, announced her engagement to singer Joe Jonas. This comes shortly after Kit Harington and Rose Leslie became engaged — a couple whose characters were romantically involved in the earlier seasons of the show.

While many fans may have wanted Emilia Clarke and Jon Snow to be in love IRL — not just on the show — it’s not in the cards. Clarke, whose exes include Seth MacFarlane, said over the summer that her globetrotting gig “makes romance absolutely impossible.”
