‘Teen Wolf’ EP Teases Final Season Debut + Spinoff Idea – NY Comic-Con
“This is the last Teen Wolf panel ever, until the reunion,” proclaimed and joked Tyler Posey at New Comic-Con today to a packed Hammerstein Ballroom. The MTV series is set to conclude with its November 15 debuting sixth season – with the finale of the split arc 20-episode final run ending on the show’s 100-episode in 2017. “Certain characters may find their end in this season,” asserted EP Jeff Davis.
Besides the Teen Wolf himself Posey and Davis, the panel on Saturday morning included cast members Shelley Hennig, Melissa Ponzio, and Linden Ashby.
The panel started with a sneak peek at the cold open of the Season 6 premiere – which you can see above. Things in the nearly 8-minute clip quickly turned to car crashes, blood and a “guy on a horse with a gun” as the Ghost Riders are now in town
“There is a number of people showing up,” EP Davis revealed of the California filmed final run. Ian Bohen will be back and Davis teased the return of Tyler Hoechlin, who is now playing Superman on the CW’s Supergirl, will be in the last season of the series mildly based on the 1985 Michael J. Fox starring pic.
“You wouldn’t believe the number of crazy ideas we’ve talked about in the writer’s room,” Davis added of bringing more past characters and actors back. “It’s really hard to do a series finale,” he said, wondering aloud if it was a good idea to fill it with cameos. “We have several unwritten episodes so we’ll see.”
David also revealed that he had pondered a Teen Wolf spinoff a few years back.
“We wanted to do as Eichen House as its own spinoff with Doctor Deaton as the head of Eichen gathering a supernatural team,” the EP said of the mental health facility featured on Teen Wolf. The recurring character played by now The Walking Dead regular Seth Gilliam is a Veterinarian at Beacon Hills Animal Clinic, McCall’s boss and a Druid, it was reveled in Season 3.
NY Comic-Con runs until October 9.
