Tecumseh Youth Theatre to present Elvis Presley tunes in 'All Shook Up' Feb. 11-12

TECUMSEH — This weekend Tecumseh Youth Theatre's middle school production will bring the music of Elvis Presley to the Tecumseh Center for the Arts stage in "All Shook Up."

The performances are at 3 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at the TCA box office, 400 N. Maumee St., or online at www.thetca.org. DVDs of the performance are also available for purchase online.

The story follows a bad boy named Chad, a news release said. After his release from prison, his motorcycle breaks down in a small, Midwestern town. Natalie, his mechanic, falls hopelessly in love with him, but Chad has his eye on another local girl, Sandra.

Heartbreak and confusion ensue as the cast of characters pines for love and affection, all while performing classic rock ’n’ roll hits like “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Jailhouse Rock” and “Don’t Be Cruel,”

“This show has seen some big challenges, but the cast has worked so hard to pull it together and I am so proud of them! They are an incredibly talented bunch and it is amazing to see them perform,” music director Abby Reeder said in the release.

Director Michelle Doerfler agrees.

“This cast of 5th-8th graders has been stretched their acting and vocal skills to met the complexity of this show," she said in the release.
