Swift’s success was powered by her blockbuster album “The Tortured Poets Department,” which spent 15 weeks on top of the Billboard 200 albums chart. That made it the longest-running chart-topper of her career. So it’s no surprise that “Tortured Poets” was also Spotify’s No. 1 global album. Swift actually achieved three of the top 10 streaming albums, with “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” coming in at No. 6 and “Lover” following at No. 8. Notably, the top eight albums were all by women, with Billie Eilish‘s “Hit Me Hard and Soft” coming in at No. 2, Sabrina Carpenter‘s “Short n’ Sweet” at No. 3, Karol G‘s “Ma?ana Será Bonito” at No. 4, Ariana Grande‘s “Eternal Sunshine” at No. 5, and SZA‘s “SOS” at No. 7.

But Swift didn’t have the top song of the year. Perhaps because her streams were spread out over so many different songs and albums, only one individual song racked up enough listens to crack the top 10: “Cruel Summer” at No. 9. Instead, the year’s biggest song in the world was Carpenter’s “Espresso,” followed by Benson Boone‘s “Beautiful Things” and Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather.” Elsewhere, “The Joe Rogan Experience” achieved the most streams for a podcast, while Sarah J. Maas‘ “A Court of Thorns and Roses” topped the list of audiobooks.
