Taylor Swift may be at Coachella after all — but to watch, not perform, one report says

Taylor Swift, seen at the Grammy Awards in February, could be at the Coachella festival this month, a celebrity magazine reports — but only to watch.

Taylor Swift is planning to fill a blank space in her busy ongoing touring schedule with a trip to Coachella, one major celebrity magazine reported Wednesday.

But the report says she'll be there to watch, not perform.

US Weekly cited an unnamed source who said the famous pop star is planning to attend the music festival later this month with her (not quite as) famous boyfriend, NFL player Travis Kelce.

The source said Swift and Kelce want to see the performances by pop star Lana Del Rey and Jack Antonoff’s band Bleachers at the festival. Antonoff and Swift have worked together to write and produce several of her songs and albums over the past decade, including her most recent, the chart-topping “Midnights.”

Swift and Del Rey, meanwhile, collaborated on her song ”Snow on the Beach” from that album. And Swift brought both Del Rey and Antonoff on stage with her when she won a Grammy for album of the year for Midnights. The two were also seen in a box together watching Kelce play in the Super Bowl along with a third Swift collaborator who is also scheduled to be playing at Coachella, rapper Ice Spice.

Us Weekly also reported that the source said Swift and Kelce will be “renting a house in the area” for one of the two festival weekends, although it did not say which of the two the pair would be attending. The magazine did say that Swift and Kelce have been staying together during Kelce’s NFL offseason and that he will be in the Los Angeles area filming a commercial the weekend of April 12.

Coachella starts that weekend and continues the next, with the same lineup performing both weekends. Del Rey is scheduled to perform her headlining sets on Friday while Ice Spice and Bleachers perform on Saturday. The festival has long been known for being a popular destination for celebrities — just last year, several images of Del Rey and actress Emma Roberts at the festival together surfaced on social media.

While the very suggestion of the couple's presence will surely be enough to send Swift fans across SoCal into a frenzy, Us Weekly notably makes no mention of whether festgoers can expect to see the star join any of her performing friends on stage. Guest appearances by major artists during other artists sets have long been major hallmarks of the festival: last year, Billie Eilish joined Labrinth and The Weeknd came out with Metro Boomin.

The possibility of a Swift performance at Coachella has been a topic of speculation going back to last summer when many fans noted that a run of new tour dates she announced included a break during the festival. However, many wrote off the possibility when Swift’s name did not appear on the lineup when it was released earlier this year. Swift has notably never performed at Coachella, but did play Stagecoach way back in 2008.

Even if Swift doesn’t perform, the suggestion that she could be there at all could bring an added spotlight to the famous event, which this year has suffered from relatively sluggish ticket sales that have seen the second weekend yet to sell out while the first sold out slower than normal.

Those looking to maximize their chances of seeing the stars could spring for the pricey VIP passes, which start at $1,069 and provide access to VIP areas, although it may be safe to assume a celebrity of Swift’s status may look to spend her time at the festival in even more private and secluded areas than the regular VIP sections.

Given that uncertainty, it seems fans may just have to wait to see if she makes their Wildest Dreams come true by hopping on stage at some point during the festival.
